Tim Woolard's mom past away, please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
The 2009-2010 season cutoff is coming quickly, with September 12 being the end of the season. I thought I would drop a reminder to everyone on what needs to be done to qualify for the METRA finals. The finals will be held at Pelzer, SC on December 4, 2010.
1. Must attend and participate at 12 METRA sanctioned ropings. To get credit
for your attendance you must sign (legible) the sign of sheets at all ropings.
2. Be in good standings with METRA amd METRA contractors.
3. Finish in the top:
#3 Division - Top 20
#4 Division - Top 25
#5 Division - Top 25
#6 Division - Top 15
4. If you are planning on roping both ends at the finals don't forget that you
will need to attend and participate at 24 ropoings instead of 12. This will
also apply to the #7 & above contestants this year.
The board voted on June 27 to combine the #7 & above finalist to the #6 division at the 2010 METRA Finals due to the lack of participants that will be qualified for the #7 division. The #7 division money will remain separate and their point year will end September 12 as advertised all year. There will be 2 seconds added per a run for a #14 team at the finals and 1.5 seconds added for a #13 team.
The board voted on May 18 to add a new rule to the General Contestant rules which will be #8. The rule states if a contestant signs a members name on the attendance sheet and that member has not participated at that roping the contestant will automatically receive a $50 fine and their classiciation will be raised two numbers. The bylaws have been updated on the website and the changes will appear in red.
If anyone of our METRA members would like to advertise on our classified page send me a email and I will email you the instructions.
