About METRA 

Being on the East Coast, people don't think of us as being Team Ropers or Cowboys, but you'll be surprised at the amount of Ropers and Cowboys you'll find in our area. 

METRA is a non-profit organization that was designed for ropers of all ability levels.  METRA was organized in 1986 by John Williams, Sr., John "Junie" Williams, Jr., Emery "Tibbs" Thibodeaux and Malcolm Boothe.

The first few Finals were held at Silver Brook Farms, then moved to Lexington, Virginia at the Lexington Horse Center.  Currently, the Finals are held each year in Pelzer, South Carolina at the Circle M Ranch.

Because we are family oriented, we offer Dummy Roping at the Finals each year as well.  Buckles are awarded to the top finishers in three age divisions.
